15/04 Dag 1 (A)

On arrival at Rome airport we go straight to Tulcania, where our hotel is located.
We start on arrival with a stroll through the historic city center and view the various Romanesque churches.
Interim our bags brought to the room.

We stay three nights at Boscolo Tuscania ****.

We use a joint dinner.

16/04 Dag 2 (O - A)

Today we visit Viterbo. Famous for its inhabitants in 1271 penned the cardinals to expedite the selection of the next pope. The elected paus Gregorius X immediately suggested the 'Conclave' in a still normal operation in a papal election.

In the Villa Lante, partly built by Cardinal Gianfrancesco Gambara (1566) and partly by the 17-year-old nephew of Pope Sixtus V (1587) we experience 16th-century beauty. The gardens make the visit definitely worthy of remembrance.

The third part today we visit the Palazzo Farnese. The same 16th century palace built for Alessandro Farnese, we will both fascinate by the palace and its collection items; and through the surrounding gardens.

17/04 Dag 3 (O - A)

Today we take a loop through the countryside in a NE direction. We visit the 18th century enigmatic Bomarzo park, then we drive to Orvieto in Umbria.

A beautiful cathedral will be here waiting for us. Horizontal colored bands on the sides of the building will be known to many. But in the facade are beautiful 14th century bas-reliefs (some say the best in the world, still in situ), attributed to Lorenzo and Vitale Maitaini. Some palaces, as well as some Romanesque churches complete our program. The views over the surrounding landscape. But it is unique only to our visit to the village of Bagnoregio.

This on a rock altitude living entity had its origins in the period of the Etruscans (8th century BC). Habitation and nearby cemeteries, so typical of the Etruscans are still part of the picture. 18/04 Dag 4 (O - M)

Today is probably the strongest day, two Etruscan sites: Tarquinia and Cerveteri. In between attending a culinary experience in a palace where once a part of the Getty family.

Tarquinia, is considered one of the most ancient Etruscan cities, still bear witness to the well-preserved graveyards with as topper the 'Magistrates Graf. Furthermore, a sarcophagus, which scenes prevalence of a amazonomachia - a war between the Amazons. The original scenes are preserved today in the Archaeological Museum. Nearby is the harbor site Gravisca. When one realizes that the Etruscans are also called the "Lords of the Sea", you will immediately understand what were the importance of the sea and trade routes. The demise of the Etrusken was used at the other by the defeat of Cuma in the naval battle in 474 v. Chr.

Then we drive to the town of Ladispoli, rather than a pearl among towns, but located near the Palazzo. At the residence of some of the Getty family, one member at the time the ear was cut off. Today a hotel with a very famous kitchen. Here we can not ignore driving.

Finally we visit the necropolis of Cerveteri, just about the most important Etruscan site. 19/04 Dag 5 (O - A)

We start the day with a visit to the church complex on the Aventine hill, and enjoy the panoramic views of Rome. A special look at the dome of St Peter's Basilica at the Vatican will be sure to hear. Then we move in time and visit on the outskirts of town church by Richard Meier. He was the architect of the Getty Museum near Los Angeles, and we will definitely remember the location where we ate the day before.

To all in the mood to stay contemporary architecture we also visit the MAXXI museum designed by Zaha Hadid. Besides the museum architecture will be probably one of the temporary exhibitions our attention.

20/04 Dag 6 (O - M)

We start the day with a visit to the Basilica of St John Lateran, the cathedral of the Diocese of Rome and thus the official seat of the bishop of Rome, a position seen by the Pope.
The President of the French Republic is ex officio "the first and only honorary canon ', a title inherited from the French kings. A feature that was first observed by King Henry IV of France.

Thus, traditionally the president of France honorary canon landscape of St. John Lateran in Rome offered. All the presidents of the French Fifth Republic have accepted the honorary title. 21/04 Dag 7 (O - M)

We leave Rome southwards, along the Via Appia. We visit Albano, where the papal residence Castel Gondolfo is located. Furthermore, with the Frascati Villa Aldobrandini and back beautiful gardens surrounding it. We also pause at Villa Mondragone, near Monte Porzio Catone, where on February 13 1582 by Paus Gregorius XIII, the Gregorian calendar was installed.
And it will be about time to head for the airport and we take the evening flight to SN Brussels.
